We will delve into the long and fascinating gestation of this work, which took multiple forms before being presented to the world in 1866 to great acclaim. Bridgehampton Chamber Music Artistic Director Marya Martin is joined by violinist Anthony Marwood and cellist Paul Watkins to discuss Brahms' singular piano quintet. Both are featured in the performance presented here.
