Seth Baer, bassoon
Bassoonist Seth Baer recently completed a fellowship in The Academy, an exciting new program at Carnegie Hall focused on chamber music, education, and community engagement. He has frequently performed at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall and Weill Recital Hall including collaborations with Christopher Hogwood, Andrew Manze, and John Adams. Seth is currently Principal Bassoon of the Colonial Symphony and is a member of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. He maintains an active freelance career performing with many of the top ensembles in the New York and Philadelphia regions. Seth is a member of Amici New York, the resident orchestra at the OK Mozart festival in Bartlesville, OK. He is also a member of the New York Symphonic Ensemble, an orchestra that tours Japan in the summer months. During the 2003-2004 season Seth served a one-year position with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. As a chamber musician Seth has performed at Bargemusic, The Music Academy of the West, the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, the Spoleto Festival, Italy, and at the Altenburg Music Festival in Germany. Seth is a graduate of The Juilliard School and in 2002 graduated cum laude from Princeton University. Seth is currently on the faculty of Montclair State University.
