Romie de Guise-Langlois, clarinet

Romie de Guise-Langlois has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States as well as in Canada, Europe and Asia. Ms. de Guise-Langlois was awarded First Place in the 2009 Houston Symphony Ima Hogg Young Artist Competition and recently won First Prize in the Woolsey Hall Competition at Yale University. Her recent and upcoming solo engagements include appearances at Carnegie Hall, Banff Center for the Arts, Chamber Music Northwest, Music@Menlo and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. She was recently a participant of Marlboro Music as well as of The Musicians from Marlboro touring program and performs as principal clarinetist for the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and The Knights. An Avid chamber musician, Ms de Guise-Langlois is the founding member of Atria Ensemble and the New-York city-based woodwind quintet Sospiro Winds which won the Fischoff National Chamber Music Association Silver Medal in 2007. Born in Montreal, Ms. de Guise-Langlois received her Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University. Her Master of Music degree and Artist Diploma are from the Yale School of Music, where she studied under David Shifrin. Ms. de Guise-Langlois recently completed her fellowship at The Academy-A Program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and The Weill Music Institute.
