John Snow, oboe

John Snow, Associate Principal Oboist of the Minnesota Orchestra, has been a member of several orchestras around the world including, the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, Detroit Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the Sante Fe Opera Orchestra. He has been invited to assist as principal oboist for such orchestras as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and he performs regularly with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. An active chamber musician, Snow is co-founder of the Detroit Chamber Winds, the New Zealand Soloists and the Talisman Trio. He has appeared at the Norfolk Festival, Sarasota Music Festival, Victoria Bach Festival, Classicfest, Bravo! Colorado Music Festival and the Oregon Bach Festival and made his debut with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in 1998. Snow received his master’s degree from the Yale School of Music where he studied with Ronald Roseman, and he joined the faculty of the School of Music at the University of Minnesota in the fall of 2000. He plays exclusively on a Buffet Greenline and is a Buffet Crampon Artist.
